Tour Itinerary

Itinerary "A" - 3 days

 Day 1

Quito - Cuyabeno Bridge - Caiman Lodge

  • Take a public or private bus from Quito to the Cuyabeno Bridge (this service has an extra cost).
  • Take a canoe ride down the Cuyabeno River to Caiman Lodge.
  • After a delicious lunch, we will explore the "Laguna Grande" by canoe.
  • During the canoe ride, the guide will provide information about the ecosystem, flora, fauna, and local culture.
  • We will conclude with a view of the magnificent sunset.
  • We will return to Caiman Lodge for dinner and finally an incredible night hike.

 Day 2

Full Day Ecological Tour

  • Breakfast at 7:00 am.
  • At 8:00 am, we will take our paddled canoes and head to one of the trails in the Cuyabeno Reserve. We will have a hike in the primary forest for approximately 3 hours.
  • On this trail, our guide will explain the ecology of the Amazon rainforest, medicinal plants, a variety of animals, and interactions of the ecosystems with the highest biodiversity on Earth before returning to our Lodge.
  • Lunch.
  • We will take a break in the hammocks or rooms.
  • At 4:30 pm, we will take a tour on our Catamaran, with ease to relax and observe a variety of animals, Pink Dolphins, monkeys, and much more.
  • We will swim and watch the sunset.
  • Then, we will have a night hike, for approximately an hour to spot arachnids, amphibians, and with luck nocturnal reptiles.
  • Special dinner at 8:00 pm with our Guide, where we will share our experiences in the jungle over a farewell cocktail.

 Day 3

  • Return day
  • At 5:30 am, we will take a tour to observe the sunrise and a variety of birds.
  • At 8:00 am, we will have breakfast at the hotel and get ready for the return at 9:30 to the Cuyabeno Bridge where we will have a Box Lunch and then be picked up by our private bus that will take us to Lago Agrio, where we can return to Quito by either bus or plane.

 Itinerary "B" - 4 days

Day 1

  • Quito - Cuyabeno Bridge - Caiman Lodge
  • From Quito, take a public or private bus to Cuyabeno Bridge (this service has an extra cost).
  • We will take a canoe ride through the Cuyabeno River to Caiman Lodge.
  • After a delicious lunch, we will start our canoe exploration to visit the "Laguna Grande".
  • During the canoe ride, the guide will provide information about the ecosystem, flora, fauna, and local culture.
  • We will conclude with a view of the magnificent sunset.
  • We will return to Caiman Lodge for dinner and finally an incredible night walk.

Day 2

Full Day Ecological Tour

  • After breakfast, we will take our rowing canoes and head to one of the trails in the Cuyabeno Reserve, where we will have a 3-hour hike in the primary forest.
  • On this trail, our guide will explain the ecology of the Amazon jungle, medicinal plants, a variety of animals, and interactions of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth.
  • We will return to our Lodge and have lunch.
  • We will take a rest in our hammocks or rooms.
  • We will take a tour on our Catamaran, with ease to relax, observe a variety of animals, Pink Dolphins, monkeys, and much more.
  • We will swim in the "Laguna Grande" and see the sunset.
  • Next, we will have dinner and a one-hour night walk to observe arachnids, amphibians, and hopefully nocturnal reptiles.

Day 3

Indigenous Community

  • We will meet at our Caimán Meeting Point.
  • We will head to our Caimán Bird Tower, where we will have the opportunity to see a variety of birds and a beautiful sunrise, accompanied by delicious coffee.
  • We will have breakfast and go downstream to the Siona Community of Puerto Bolívar, a 1.5-hour journey approximately.
  • In this place, we will be greeted by one of the native women who will take us to the yucca plantation to harvest yucca and with our help, she will show us the preparation of one of their traditional foods, casabe (flatbread made of yucca).
  • Immediately after this, the guide will introduce you to one of the last 4 Shamans of the Siona tribe in Ecuador, and one of them will explain their worldview directly related to the Ayahuasca drink. A part of the energetic cleansing ritual with their chants that come from an ancient Shamanic oral tradition to apprentice will be carried out.
  • We will take a brief tour around this place in search of snakes, and we will also find one of the largest trees in Ecuador, the Ceibo, where we can take photos.
  • Lunch
  • We will return to the Lodge in the afternoon and take our last tour of the Laguna Grande, where we will see dolphins and more animals that the jungle offers us.
  • Next, we will return to the Lodge and relax in a hammock or have a beer at the bar.
  • We will have a special dinner with our guide, where we will share our experiences in the jungle along with a farewell cocktail.

Day 4

Return

  • We will take a tour to observe the sunrise and a variety of birds.
  • We will have breakfast at the hotel and prepare for the return.
  • At 9:30, we will head to Cuyabeno Bridge, where we will have a Box Lunch, and then we will be picked up by our private bus that will take us to Lago Agrio so that we can return to Quito by bus or plane.

 Itinerary "C" - 5 days

Day 1

Day 3

Indigenous Community

  • In this place, we will be welcomed by one of the native women who will take us to the cassava plantation to harvest cassava and with our help, she will show us the preparation of one of their traditional foods, casabe (flatbread made of cassava).
  • Immediately after this, the guide will introduce you to one of the last 4 Shamans of the Siona tribe in Ecuador, and one of them will explain their worldview directly related to the Ayahuasca drink. A part of the energetic cleaning ritual will be performed with their songs that come from an ancient oral tradition from Shaman to apprentice.
  • We will take a brief tour around this place in search of snakes and other animals that we can find.
  • In addition, we will find one of the largest trees in Ecuador, the Ceibo, where we can take photos.

  • At 4:00 pm we will take our last tour of the Laguna Grande, where we will see dolphins and more animals that the jungle offers us.
  • Next, we will return to the Lodge and relax in a hammock or have a beer at the bar.
  • We will have dinner and a nocturnal activity dependent on the weather (optional).

Day 4

  • We will have breakfast and provide each person with Full Day equipment (rubber boots, rain ponchos, and amacas).
  • We will paddle on a canoe to visit another fantastic lagoon, "La Laguna Cananbueno," where we will have the opportunity to see a variety of animals such as monkeys, birds, sloths, and more.
  • Then, we will go on a hike in the primary forest, where we will see different animal species, and the guide will explain the ecology of the Amazon jungle, plants, flora and fauna, and the interactions of ecosystems with the greatest biodiversity on Earth. (approximately 3 hours).
  • We will have a box lunch in the jungle and take a rest in amacas in the middle of the forest.
  • Afterward, we will return to the lodge and take our last tour on the Laguna Grande, where we will see dolphins and more animals that the jungle offers. We will swim and watch the magnificent sunset before returning to the lodge.
  • Later, we will have a special dinner with our guide, where we will share our experiences in the jungle while enjoying a farewell cocktail.

 

 

 

 

 

 Day 5

 

  • We will take a sunrise bird watching tour, followed by breakfast at the hotel.
  • Then, we will get ready for the return trip at 9:30 am until we reach the Cuyabeno bridge, where we will have a box lunch. After that, our private bus will pick us up and take us to Lago Agrio, where we can return to Quito by bus or plane.
