The Anahi Catamaran is a first-class cruise that offers high-quality amenities such as gourmet meals and luxurious rooms.
This travel proposal is perfect for those looking to explore the iconic sites of the Galápagos Islands in a short time. This exciting 4-day itinerary begins with a visit to San Cristóbal, where you'll have the opportunity to dive into the history of the archipelago and appreciate its impressive natural wealth. During your stay, you can explore the Charles Darwin Research Station to observe giant tortoises in their natural habitat.
The variety of species is not limited to San Cristóbal. The islands of Española, Floreana, and Baltra are home to an astounding diversity of exotic birds, such as albatrosses, gulls, and the unique Española mockingbird. Moreover, as you explore the archipelago, you'll also witness the incredible diversity of marine life inhabiting the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
The Yacht Anahi offers tours from 4 days to 15 days.
Day 1: San Cristóbal Island: Interpretation Center, Tijeretas Hill, and Punta Carola.
AM: Flying from Quito or Guayaquil, our flight will arrive around noon (local time) in San Cristóbal, where you will be welcomed in the lobby by our guide, who will be waiting for your arrival to take you to the Anahí Yacht. Your luggage will be handled by one of our crew members and transported directly to the yacht aboard small Zodiacs. The captain and crew will greet you, and then you will be assigned your cabin.
After lunch, our guide will provide a brief explanation of the afternoon activities.
PM: San Cristóbal Interpretation Center, located on the outskirts of the small town of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the capital of the Galápagos Province. The Interpretation Center offers a great introduction to the islands, their natural and human history. Then we will walk to a place known as "Frigatebird Hill" or "Tijeretas Hill." This short hike starts from the Interpretation Center and takes about 30 minutes to reach the top of the hill. Once there, visitors can enjoy a spectacular view of white sand beaches and stunning formations emerging from the Pacific Ocean. From the hill, we will descend to the small cove known as Punta Carola, where we will find a colony of sea lions.
In the evening (if you wish), you can visit the town for a stroll and perhaps enjoy a drink at one of the local bars.
Day 2: Wednesday. Española Island: Punta Suárez and Gardner Bay.
AM: Punta Suárez: a destination of great interest due to the abundance of birds. This island also has its own species of animals, such as the Española mockingbird, which has a distinctively longer and more curved beak than variations on other islands; the Española lava lizard; and the marine iguana of the venustissimus subspecies, which has red markings on its back, among others.
We can also observe gulls and other tropical birds living on the rocky slopes. One of the most interesting attractions is the waved albatross, where almost the entire world population comes to breed here from March to December, and the amusing mating dances of the blue-footed boobies.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included onboard.
PM: Gardner Bay, which has a beautiful beach, excellent for swimming and snorkeling. Here we find a large colony of playful sea lions, and with luck, we may spot Galápagos hawks and local species of snakes, while we are sure to see Darwin’s finches, mockingbirds, and sea turtles.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included onboard.
Day 3: Thursday. Floreana Island: Punta Cormorant, Devil’s Crown, Post Office Bay & Asilo de la Paz.
AM: Punta Cormorant: a site that offers the largest and best flamingo lagoon in the Galápagos. It is located between two "tuff" cones, giving the area a unique atmosphere. Several species of shorebirds can be seen in addition to flamingos, with stilts, white-cheeked pintails, and other migratory birds being the most frequent. This is a unique area due to the high percentage of endemic plants (found only on this island). Here, we see the "green beach" (due to the high percentage of olivine crystals in the sand) and the "flour sand beach" composed of coral, two of the most interesting beaches on the islands.
We return to the yacht to begin our snorkeling activity at a place known as Devil’s Crown.
PM: "Post Office" Bay, which historically served as a mail exchange station using a wooden barrel placed in the 18th century by the crew of a whaling ship. Both sailors and tourists have used this rudimentary system to exchange correspondence to all corners of the world! The idea is to deliver letters or postcards to their destination by hand, creating a very special "Postal Service." This site was also the landing place for some of the first settlers.
Afterward, we visit the "Asilo de La Paz," known for its peculiar history as one of the first inhabited spots on the islands by a German family with the last name Wittmer.
We will return to our yacht to begin our navigation towards Puerto Ayora, the largest town in the Galapagos.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included onboard.
Day 4: Friday. Santa Cruz Island: Galápagos Giant Tortoises.
AM: After breakfast, we will depart to visit a special place before heading to the airport.
We will visit the Fausto Llerena Interpretation Center, where different sizes and species of land tortoises can be observed.
If time allows, we will also visit the special exhibit featuring the taxidermied body of the famous tortoise "Lonesome George."
We will then be transported to the Itabaca Channel, where we will cross with a local ferry to take a bus to Baltra Island Airport. This is where our journey ends, and we will say farewell to our guide and the Galapagos Islands, which await your next visit.
Breakfast is included onboard.
