Itinerary "A" – Tuesday to Friday (4D/3N)
Day 1 - Tuesday
Baltra Island - Santa Cruz Island
BALTRA ISLAND: Home to the main airport of the Galápagos, this will be the starting point of your experience aboard the best tour of the Galápagos Islands. A bilingual guide will welcome you at the airport and assist you during the transfer aboard the Golondrina. Welcome ceremony, briefing session.
PM – After Lunch
PRIMICIAS RANCH: At the first stop, you will see the iconic and namesake species of the islands: the giant tortoise. These gentle creatures can be easily spotted walking among the foliage or resting. Harder to find but equally fascinating, the numerous birds that reside in the Galápagos are direct descendants of species from the Andean plateau; endemic subspecies of mockingbirds, flycatchers, cattle egrets, and finches can be seen throughout the ranch.
Dinner and briefing for the next day.
Day 2 – Wednesday
Isabela Island
AM – After Breakfast
TINTORERAS: Located south of Puerto Villamil, Tintoreras features a calm turquoise bay where a wide variety of marine life can be observed—sea turtles, marine iguanas, and sea lions are almost guaranteed sightings. The bay is connected to a shallow fissure, and when the tide is low, the entrance is cut off, allowing sharks and stingrays to be seen swimming inside. Lunch on board.
PM
ARNALDO TUPIZA BREEDING CENTER: The island’s giant tortoise population is maintained through its captive breeding program.
WETLANDS: This area is known for its sandy beaches, rocky coastline, and mangroves. A network of trails allows visitors to observe up close the four species of mangroves found in the Galápagos, as well as blue herons, Galápagos hawks, lava herons, striated herons, lava gulls, and many other bird species. 30-minute walk.
PLAYA DEL AMOR: On this beautiful beach, you can see marine iguanas resting or diving in the crystal-clear waters, along with iconic Galápagos birds such as blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and frigatebirds.
LA PLAYITA: A fine-sand beach where pelicans, marine iguanas, and boobies fishing can be observed, along with a mangrove area and a cactus forest.
EL TÚNEL DEL ESTERO: This tunnel is directly connected to the ocean and is surrounded by cacti, creating a unique landscape. As you pass through, you can spot small crabs and a great variety of tiny fish.
Dinner and briefing for the next day.
Day 3 – Thursday
Isabela Island
AM – After Breakfast
RÁBIDA ISLAND: One of the most colorful and volcanically active islands in the archipelago, as well as an incredible diving site. We begin at Rábida’s prominent brown-sand beach, followed by a ½-mile light hike to a viewpoint with a breathtaking view. A paradise for birdwatchers, Rábida attracts flycatchers, brown pelicans, Galápagos hawks, various species of finches, and many other rare species. Wet landing. Lunch on board.
PM
CERRO DRAGÓN: After anchoring, we will head inland behind the beach to reach a hypersaline lagoon frequented by flamingos, Wilson’s plovers, black-bellied ducks, and more. The hike to Cerro Dragón offers a panoramic view of the bay and leads directly to the nesting areas of the Galápagos land iguana, from which the site gets its name. Many of the iguanas nesting in Cerro Dragón were relocated here by the Charles Darwin Research Station.
Dinner and briefing for the next day.
