Itinerary
Day One:
Immerse Yourself in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve in the Heart of the Amazon Jungle
Upon arriving at our meeting point in Lago Agrio, our driver will pick you up at 9:30 AM. The same will happen for those arriving directly at the Lago Agrio airport (9:00 AM). We will then drive for another two hours to reach the Cuyabeno River (Cuyabeno River Bridge).
Lunch will be served at the bridge, and we will immediately begin our exploration of the Ecuadorian Amazon by boat. During the canoe ride, get ready to hear the sounds of wildlife as you watch the landscape change along the Cuyabeno River waters and among the trees. On this boat trip, you'll be able to observe birds, monkeys, and other jungle creatures, accompanied by a guide who will provide information on how animals and plants interact and maintain balance within the Cuyabeno ecosystem.
Finally, upon arriving at the eco-lodge, we will settle into our cabins. After settling in, we'll embark on an exciting boat ride to the lake to admire the sunset. Then, we'll head back to the eco-lodge, where you can see the famous black caimans of the Amazon. During this journey, you'll hear the mysterious sounds of the forest, an unforgettable experience. After dinner, our native guide will give us a brief introduction to the activities planned for the next few days at Cuyabeno Wildlife Center.
Day Two and Three:
Explore the Ecuadorian Amazon Jungle in Cuyabeno
In the morning, before breakfast, you can hear the birds flying around the bungalows in the eco-lodge. After breakfast, we continue upriver to start trekking along the banks of the Cuyabeno River, where you'll see different species of plants, huge trees, aquatic vines, orchids, medicinal herbs, and a large number of wild animals and birds of the Amazon Jungle. After lunch, you'll have time to swim and relax in Laguna Grande while watching pink and gray dolphins playing in the water, enjoying one of the best sunsets of your life.
We will follow up our adventures with a night walk, where you'll find plenty of opportunities to see insects, the famous tarantula, and frogs. Dinner will be served at the end of the day.
The next day, we will have the opportunity to visit other areas of this vast place and discover the immense biodiversity of the Cuyabeno Reserve. We'll do activities such as searching for caimans, monkeys, or birds, concluding with a night walk on either of these two nights.
Meet the Legends and the Shaman of the Siona Indigenous Community – Half-Day Tour
Early in the morning, we will enjoy breakfast and travel by canoe to the Siona Indigenous Community, where we can interact and learn about their traditions, culture, and customs.
