Premium Tour | 4 Days 3 Nights
Day 1
After a rewarding 30-minute flight over the eastern Andes, you’ll arrive at the port city of Francisco de Orellana, also known as "El Coca." From there, a 10-minute private transfer will bring you to our private dock, where you will be welcomed. Here, you can take a break, use the restroom, enjoy a refreshing drink, and receive a box lunch for the journey.
The adventure begins with a two-hour ride along the majestic Napo River in our covered motorized canoes, leading to the Napo Wildlife Center’s welcome area. At this point, we’ll switch to one of our paddled canoes. While our staff rows, you can immerse yourself in a magical and peaceful journey through a narrow stream that will take you to the lodge by the shores of a beautiful lagoon.
This approximately two-hour paddle offers the chance to spot various species of monkeys and birds such as toucans, parrots, and even macaws. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at the Napo Wildlife Center, greeted by the stunning view of Añangucocha Lagoon. Upon arrival, enjoy a refreshing drink, snacks, and a brief orientation about your stay from the lodge manager. He will then guide you to your comfortable room overlooking the jungle. In the evening, one of our guides will give a detailed explanation of the activities planned for the following days as you enjoy exclusive access to Yasuni National Park, thanks to community-managed projects.
Day 2
The day begins early as we head to the most accessible parrot clay licks in Ecuador, located about an hour and a half from the lodge. Guests will arrive just in time to witness the morning activity of the parrots. Here, you may spot up to five species, including the Mealy Amazon Parrot, Blue-headed Parrot, Yellow-crowned Parrot, Dusky-headed Parakeet, and White-eyed Parakeet.
Afterward, we’ll explore a forest trail leading to the Kichwa Interpretation Center, Kuri Muyu, run by women from the local community. Visitors have the chance to immerse themselves in Kichwa culture, learning about their music, traditions, and traditional uses of natural resources. You can also visit the craft shop, where locals display and sell their unique creations, supporting their creativity and livelihood.
We continue through lush terra firma forest for about 30 minutes to reach the second parrot clay lick. If weather conditions allow, you’ll have the opportunity to observe various bird species and mammals.
After a revitalizing lunch, we return to the lodge via the main creek, where you may spot different species of birds and mammals. A delicious dinner awaits you in the evening.
Day 3
After a delightful breakfast at the lodge, we’ll embark on a sunrise walk to the canopy observation tower located near the Napo River. This 36-meter-high tower, built to the highest safety and quality standards, is only 30 minutes from the lodge.
As you ascend the 12-story structure, you’ll have a remarkable chance to witness the rainforest canopy and its incredible biodiversity. From the top, you’ll reach a platform built on a towering Ceiba tree, offering exceptional views. Here, you can spot colorful flocks of tanagers, macaws, toucans, monkeys, and other species active in the early morning hours.
The tower offers Ecuador’s best Amazon experience, where vibrant flocks of tanagers, blue-and-yellow macaws, spider monkeys, and large toucan species come into view. Wildlife that’s almost invisible from the forest floor suddenly feels within reach.
After lunch at the lodge, we’ll explore the terra firma forest in the afternoon, seeking unique wildlife, including the endemic Golden-mantled Tamarin monkeys. Following the walk, we’ll explore the lake and nearby streams by canoe, with a high chance of spotting a family of giant otters.
At the lodge, a second observation tower above the restaurant provides stunning views of the lagoon and its surroundings. After dinner, prepare for a nighttime walk with your flashlight to spot a variety of insects, reptiles, amphibians, and even nocturnal monkeys.
Day 4
We’ll depart early to return to the welcome area and switch to motorboat transport. Along the Añangu Creek, enjoy the morning sounds of nature as the sunrise illuminates the landscape.
