DAY 1 - Baltra Island and Santa Cruz Island
Arrive at Baltra Airport and visit Santa Cruz Island
After arriving at Baltra Airport, we will take a scenic drive to the Itabaca Channel to board a ferry to Santa Cruz Island. After a 30-minute bus ride, we will explore the island's lush highlands, appreciating its unique ecosystems, and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
Exploring the Highlands of Santa Cruz Island
After lunch, we will visit a nearby reserve known for sightings of giant tortoises in their natural habitat. The reserve also features lava tunnels to explore. Then, we will transfer to Puerto Ayora to board the Isabela II for more adventures.
DAY 2 - Santiago Island and Chinese Hat Islet
Discover Puerto Egas on Santiago Island
After landing on the black sand beach, we will marvel at encounters with land iguanas and birds near tuff layers, rugged rocks, and lava formations. Marine iguanas feed on algae during low tide, while sea lions rest in the shade.
Explore Chinese Hat Islet
This young islet features a 400-meter (1312-foot) trail starting from a crescent-shaped white sandy beach. It is perfect for swimming and snorkeling and offers encounters with white-tip reef sharks and Galapagos penguins.
DAY 3 - Genovesa Island
Experience Prince Philip’s Steps on Genovesa Island
Start the day with a scenic panga ride along the cliffs of "Bird Island," also known as Genovesa. Then, descend a wooden staircase onto a plateau to observe colonies of Nazca boobies, red-footed boobies, frigates, and storm petrels. Keep an eye out for the short-eared owl. You can also enjoy a longer panga ride along the cliffs or snorkel and kayak if weather permits.
Explore Darwin Bay on Genovesa Island
After a hearty lunch, we arrive at the pristine white sands of Darwin Bay. Here, you can observe many bird species, including frigates, red-footed and Nazca boobies, gulls, herons, finches, and mockingbirds.
DAY 4 - Santa Fe Island and South Plaza Island
Explore Santa Fe Island
Embark on a boat ride to the white sandy shores of Santa Fe Island, home to sea lions. Look out for Galapagos hawks and Santa Fe land iguanas. Finish the day with snorkeling or a glass-bottom boat ride.
Discover South Plaza Island
After lunch, land on solid ground in a channel of turquoise waters and a shoreline of white sands and black lava. Experience a vibrant landscape with scarlet sesuvium succulents and green prickly pear cacti, home to grayish-yellow land iguanas and lively sea lion colonies. Watch as frigates, swallow-tailed gulls, and shearwaters soar gracefully overhead.
DAY 5 - Baltra Island
Baltra Airport
Our journey concludes on Baltra Island, where we head to the airport to catch our flight back to the mainland.
